I've just been there and found an information about one interesting moovie. It is named 'The Village'. It tells about the village isolated from all other world with forest. There are strange dangerous creatures in this forest, and citizens have an agreement with them. People from the village do not go to the forest, and these creatures do not go to the village. But once... Well, I advice you to watch it.

The name of the film, wich I saw last,is "The Departed". It impressed me very much. At first sight, the plot of this movie can seem very simply and ordinary, and you can think :"Okay, another film about police, mafia, good and bad guys." Obviously this fillm about all this things, but the plot is rather unusual. This film is about two young men, who had just graduated from Massachusetts State Police Academy. One man, Billy Costigan, from crook family, wanted to work in police for doing redeem the family. Another one,Colin Sullivan, went to the police as Frank Costello's informator. Likewise Billy Costigan was brought in Costello s band as police informator. They did not know about each other. But one day both sides understood that they had a "rat" in their departmens. Since this time they tried to find each other. This film is really imazing, and the end of the film is unpredictable. This movie is worth of see. A great number of famous actors take part in it, namely Leonardo DiCaprio, Matt Damon, Mark Wahlberg, Jack Nicholson. And the main thing is that the director of this film is Martin Scorsese. Who is famous by working at "Aviator", "Gangs of New-York". More about this film you can learn from htt://thedeparted.warnerbros.com

“The Last Samurai” is one of the most favorite films of mine. First I saw this film nearly 4 years ago and I was absolutely amazed by it! So when I had to decide between enormous variants of films only one and find out about it some interesting information, I‘ve certainly chosen this one. I have found that Tom Cruise- who played the main role in this film- only just escaped potentially fatal injuries after a sword was swung within one inch of his neck. He and his colleague Hiroyuki Sanada were acting out a sword fight scene when the incident happened.
Then I was surprised to learn that Tom Cruise spent almost 2 years in preparation for the film, including swordplay instruction, and Japanese language lessons.
And the last thing which I found interesting and uncommon is that the title of the film does not refer to Nathan Algren as the Last Samurai. The word "Samurai" here is in its plural form and is actually referring to Katsumoto's clan as a whole.
If information which I’ve written here awake your interest you may follow by these links:

Since then cinematography had appeared, there have been produced a large number of different kinds of films. There is no doubt, that no each movie is perfect, there are a lot of moderate ones, which are loved by public, but the last kinds of cinema will be usually soon forgotten. Cinema has a long an interesting story, a lot of new films appear every day, but I prefer old ones: my choice is Roman Holiday with Audrey Hepburn, where she played the main character, Princess Anne. The plot of the film is about a royal princess of an unspecified country, who is having a tour of European countries. One night the Princess sneaks out of her room, hops into the back of a delivery truck and escapes her luxurious confinement. However, a sedative she was forced to take earlier starts to take effect, and the princess is soon fast asleep on a public bench. She is found by Joe Bradley, an American newspaper reporter stationed in Rome. He takes her back to his apartment, then Anne feel in love with the reporter, but circumstances and her social status don’t afford them to be together. The plot is rather ordinary, but I suppose the film was made very grade, and cast was formed perfectly, all actors, who took part in the film production, plated their roles excellent. I really like this film, so I decided to find out much more information about the film from different sources on the Internet. There is a site, where I have learn some new interesting facts about the film, cast, and the director, William Wyler. Also I have found some photos of favorite episodes. I think old films, especially back and white films, bring us a piece of the last epoch, they give the information about previous traditions, fashion, people’s behavior. It’s just a little fragment of former life, and I really enjoy it!
Obviously each of my groupmates has already watched it, but I'd like them to watch it again. It's a tremendous film!

Hi, guys. Do you remember the film which is called “Ghostbusters”? I am sure you have seen it.
It is fascinating comedy with elements of fiction. Three odd-ball scientists were booted out of New York University. They decided to start the own business in catching ghost. And they called themselves “Ghostbusters”. At first, client were few, but then New York’s downtown sky scraper became the focal point of spirit activity linked to the ancient god Gozer, “Ghostbusters” got the real job which may be overcome only by the team. And New York’s future depended on the results of their work.
Looking through the site I found out much interesting information such as private life of the main actors, their achievements (all of them won Oscar, Grammy, etc.), a lot of details about the film, for example, What was the pink slime made of? What was the song that started playing after the containment unit bursts, and continued until Dana/Zuul's apartment wall exploded? and many other things. The most captivating thing for me was Fun Stuff, because I can read fun quotes and imagine some episodes from the film. If you want to enjoy “Ghostbusters” again or if I arouse your interest, click here :) http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0087332/

Olya, I know that "The last samurai" was nominated for 4 Oscars.Did it get Oscar? And what about other wins?
:)Poor Tom Cruise, I think he had some problems with the Japanese language, didn't he?

Yes,Yana you are right,"The Last Samurai" was nominated for 4 Oscars. Moreover,it has won another 15 wins, such as ASCAP Film and Television Music Awardsand 39 nominations,Academy Awards in USA, Awards of the Japanese Academy and many others.
As for Tom Cruise,I really don't know, but probably he did, because Japanese language is one of the most difficult language and I think it's rather hard for foreigners to learn it,especially for foreigners with completely different culture like American or English.

Yana, about your question. 'The Village' is not something like a horror film but film about people's secrets. Everybody in this village keeps secrets and the village itself is a secret too. I mean, the main idea is not connected with creatures. Creatures are guard people from outside world. And that there is something that frifgtens people much more than wild scary animals. This 'something' is sorrow. Each of this people lost somebody important when they lived in outside world such as a husband, a sister... And then they decided to create a place where they can live in peace without sorrow and they created this village. There are several people who know it and a lot (their children and rellatives)who don't know, so, the main idea is working good. And this idea is that nobody should go outside the village and see what is there. These people created 'strange dangerous creatures' who are exactly fakes and isolated their little world. But of course if you hide from something it will find you sooner or later...

You have a lively discussion here. Great! I'd like everybody to add what her favorite film genre is and why OR who your favorite actor/actress is and why?

Do you watch all the films with your favourite actor/actress no matter what?

I'm really fond of films too and have quite a collection of videos and DVDs, among which I have dramas, comedies, children's films, quite a few musicals, some adventure and a couple of horror films. But dramas take the first place because they make you think and experience a great range of feelings. :)
