Nowadays The United States of America plays a great role on the world arena, it has influence on not only political, economical, but and cultural live of other countries. The USA is the biggest producer of different media and entertainment sources such as music, movies, TV-programs, books, etc.
There are a large number of different American comedies (such as ‘American Pie’) and boosters on European cinemas, but most of them are very stupid and do not bring any useful information, or one can watch on the screen only cruelty and violence, which damage human’s nervous system and bring harmful effect on children’s acculturation. There is no doubt, that some films are really good (‘Pretty Woman’, ‘Pearl Harbor’), but their number is very small.
Let’s come back several centuries ago, and we see that the United States has very young historic and cultural heritage. Especially, American culture was based on cultural features of other countries- conquerors, some features penetrated through the American culture from English, French, Spanish ones. Some customs and cultural streams were borrowed and became the origin of the particular in the American life. Especially, one can say that the musical stream Jazz is such peculiarity. To my mind the Jazz is one of the greatest musical art form in the world, which originated in the beginning of the 20th century in the Southern United States from a confluence of African and European music traditions. It was absolute new music form of art. There were a large number of key figures in developing the "big" jazz band included bandleaders and arrangers Count Basie, Cab Calloway, Benny Goodman, Fletcher Henderson, and others. The period from 1920 to 1933 was famous as "Jazz Age" in America. Certainly, it brought new stream of music, songs, but ‘Jazz Age’ also was famous for alcoholic drinks, iniquity and immoral behavior of people.
It is very difficult to give valid mark to any culture, but sometimes I think people can’t find the right features of American one, because the last one does not have a great base which has formed during the long centuries.

Indeed, Am culture is much younger than cultures in Europe, but its freshness is one of its appealing features.
Saying that the number of good Am movies is small is factually incorrect. Their number is considerable, while the value of the best of them is not doubted.
There are indeed many not very successful comedies as well as fims in other genres, but this is true about the films produced in any country.
Still, Am fims are admired and watched with appreciation in many parts of the world.
There are political, social, economic, historic and liguistic factors that have made Am culture so widely spread around the world.
Jazz is indeed a great contribution of the American culture to the world's heritage. It has a great appeal to music lovers around the world thanks to its novelty and
originality.

I am agree with you that some American films have cruel moments. And ,unfortunately, Russian young people watch them. What will happen if children are allowed to watch such films? How do you think what methods we shoulduse to protect children from negotive influence of Am violent films. Can you give an example how American culture has influenced on you?
I suppose, there are several ways of protection children from harmful influence of cruel American films and programs. The most convinient is making a special option on the tabu channel. This function does not allow the child to watch the program, so there is a block show.
Also some parents haven't let children watch the TV at all before their son or daughter does nor get the particular age. They will try to save the child's nervous system in a such way.
Yana, what kind of methods of effort against Am movies would you offer, if you had a chance?
If we speak about Am culture at all, I'd like to mark Jazz as a great contribution of Americam music. This misical stream has individual manner of execution which makes me forget about the real world. Its remarkable cadence of music makes me dance!
Ira, I like your work rather much. I find it very persuasive. I agree almost with all your points. There is no doubt that there are a lot of stupid films in Am cinema industry, but we can say the same about Russian, German and other films. I like Am films quite a lot! And there are a lot of good films in Am culture.
