ПАРОДИЯ НА ПЛОХОЙ ДЕТЕКТИВ
Опасаясь контрразведки, избегая жизни светской,
Под английским псевдонимом "мистер Джон Ланкастер Пек",
Вечно в кожаных перчатках - чтоб не делать отпечатков,-
Жил в гостинице "Советской" несоветский человек.
Джон Ланкастер в одиночку, преимущественно ночью,
Чем-то щелкал, в чем был спрятан инфракрасный объектив, -
А потом в нормальном свете представало в черном цвете
То, что ценим мы и любим, чем гордится коллектив.
Клуб на улице Нагорной стал общественной уборной,
Наш родной Центральный рынок стал похож на грязный склад.
Искаженный микропленкой, ГУМ стал маленькой избенкой,
И уж вспомнить неприлично, чем предстал театр МХАТ.
Но работать без подручных - может, грустно, может - скучно.
Враг подумал, враг был дока, - написал фиктивный чек.
И где-то в дебрях ресторана гражданина Епифана
Сбил с пути и с панталыку несоветский человек.
Епифан казался жадным, хитрым, умным, плотоядным,
Меры в женщинах и в пиве он не знал и не хотел.
В общем, так: подручный Джона был находкой для шпиона.
Так случиться может с каждым, если пьян и мягкотел.
- Вот и первое заданье: в три пятнадцать, возле бани,
Может, раньше, может, позже - остановится такси.
Надо сесть, связать шофера, разыграть простого вора,
А потом про этот случай раструбят по Би-Би-Си.
И еще. Оденьтесь свеже, и на выставке в Манеже
К вам приблизится мужчина с чемоданом. Скажет он:
-Не хотите ли черешни?- Вы ответите: - Конечно. -
Он вам даст батон с взрывчаткой - принесете мне батон.
А за это, друг мой пьяный,- говорил он Епифану,-
Будут деньги, дом в Чикаго, много женщин и машин...-
Враг не ведал, дурачина, - тот, кому все поручил он,
Был чекист, майор разведки и прекрасный семьянин.
Да, до этих штучек мастер этот самый Джон Ланкастер.
Но жестоко просчитался пресловутый мистер Пек.
Обезврежен он, и даже он пострижен и посажен.
А в гостинице "Советской" поселился мирный грек.a

Interesting opinion about this topic. I mean this lircs' poet's opinion. Many of them (poets of XX centure and others) like to hyperbolise the situation if I don't mistaken very much)
Irishka, i was also impressed by this words. I think that such a case hasn't disappeared yet. Most of reach people do their money in similar way. Nowadays we live better than in the past because of some changes, but our country isn't an ideal one.

I think that nothing has changed since that time, when Visotskyi( I'm not sure that his second name is written this way)wrote this liric, because nowadays not all foreignes, but many of them think that "bears still walk around acity". of course, I exagerade. And what do you think?
Ira,I really enjoy reading this poem and I like it,because I find some facts that were written in it of present interest,especially discriptions of town and immoral and irresponsible people's behaviour.Unfortunately,it's just the same as we currently have.
And what thing impressed you most of all?
The famous image of John Peck is usually shown as a collective image of hero, who is standing against the cruel modern world. The poem was written in the edge of 70s, but the comic image of a person is still met nowadays. We can see that the hero fells always solitude: his clothes ('leather gloves'), his things such as 'инфракрасный объектив', etc are marked himself among the crowd.

I think Vysotsky is famous singer in other countries as well as in Russia; and his creation is very meaningfull.How do you think what Visotskii wanted to tell us with this song?Did you find an English version of the song?
No, I even didn't try to find the English version of the song. I suppose cultural Russian legacy must be kept in the original, and other versions and interpretations bring only hollow impression of the essence. I'll try to post the song in the original version by V.Vysotsky.
