This essay is a story about a girl, who decided to start a new part of her life in Novosibirsk. I do not really know why I decide to study in Novosibirsk, but I am sure that I have done a right choice.
At first I want to tell you some words about my birthplace. I was born in Sakhalin in 1990, and my hometown is Kholmsk. Kholmsk is the second large town in Sakhalin, the first is Yushno-Sakhalinsk-the capital of the island. Obviously my town is rather small. Only thirty thousand people live here. Kholmsk is the main Sea Gate of the Sakhalin region, that is why almost all men in my town are sailors. My father and mother are sailors too, and the made the acquaintance working on marine. Nowadays my mother does not work on marine any more, but my father is still working there. Also I have an elder brother. He is a student of the last course of the Tomsk State University, but he lives and works in Kholmsk.
Kholmsk is a wonderful place for those who want quite and calm life. The main places of interest in my town are the seafronts. These places are very popular among local residents. Also there are a lot of beaches, which situated not far from the city. They become popular in summer. Honestly I do not like summer in Sakhalin, because it is often rainy and windy, and I prefer winter to summer. It is rather cold there, but very picturesque. Sometimes I really miss winters in my hometown.
During my school-life I had a hobby, which I devoted eleven years of my life. This hobby was dancing. I went to school of modern dance. It was really a fabulous time. Now it is difficult for me to combine dancing with study, that is why I do not go in for dance any more. But now I have another hobby. I collect postcards and press cuttings from different magazines.
I can not say that I am very sociable person, but I like to meet with new people and share different information with them. In conclusion, I want to say that each person is interesting in his or her own way.

Ksenya, I really like your work! While I was reading its first half, I practically understood how you miss your hometown. It’s always very difficult to be far away from your home, parents, friends for a really long time … It’s such a pity that you don’t dance anymore because in my personal opinion it’s a very beautiful and exciting hobby! However, you got a chance to find something more interesting for you!
You know, Ksenya, when I was reading your work I was imaging your hometown. So beautiful. A place for people who loves sea and ships very much. Your work is great! It is full of fillings.
I agree with the girls! You can feel indeed how much you love your hometown.
You mentioned that your mom was a sailor. Is this correct? Was she ever on a long sea voyage, while you stayed at home? Who looked after you? Does your father still sail?
Are you sure you cannot have some time put aside to dancing? It's always been my dream to learn to dance, and a couple of months ago a friend gave me a birthday certificate which I used to attend a lesson at a dancing school. Now I'm trying to learn to do it -- not an easy thing I should say, but I'm really trying. Hope it works:)
oh, i`m going to cry)) Ksenya, I`m so proud of you! I really want people to know haw hardworking you are! you see, the thing is that i`m three times less hardworking than you, and your community always makes me understanding that it`s time to give up dping nothing and write my introduction))!
Natalia Yurevna, I am sorry that I am answering you only now.
Yes, my mom was a sailor, she worked as a cook. And she had worked on marine before she gave birth to my brother. After it she didn't work on marine any more.
as for dancing, I think that I will find time for it, but now it's difficult
